Physical Description

Compared to most other male Hrothgar, Langley has a lean build that gives him a distinctively snatched waist and toned musculature. His fur coat is a dark gray with darker charcoal hair found on the rest of his body. Langley keeps his hair long and swept back, with a bit of well-groomed scruff beneath his chin. The Hrothgar's eyes are a dull gold similar to tarnished jewelry.

Hook One

You are a client.There are plenty of places to seek out pretty little things in Ul'dah, but Langley only takes individual clients by referral only. He's a hot ticket item, so to speak. Maybe you have friends in high-up places or you're cashing in a favor?

You are an admirer.Langley has acquired something of a reputation in Ul'dah for his frequent sightings amongst the wealthy and elite. Are the rumors true? Just how does the Hrothgar have them wrapped around his finger? If you've spotted him, it wouldn't hurt to ask.

You are a colleague.Courtship is an industry like any other. It's unforgiving and cutthroat. It chews people between its teeth and spits them out each and every day. If you're new to the scene, it's okay to ask for advice. Langley's more than happy to give a rookie some pointers.

Backstory

If you were to ask Langley who or what he was, he would answer with one simple word: that he was a courtesan.If you used the term "prostitute" or "whore" when referring to him, Langley would take great offense. Not because of the pejorative per se, but because the Hrothgar's work is something that he takes extremely seriously. What Langley offers is not the same as a lecherous escape or some night between the sheets. What Langley offers is indulgence. The kind of decadence and excess that emperors of old enjoyed. Pleasure is best served in an overfilling cup.Langley Pelissier is one of the jewels of Ul'dah's seedy underbelly. A common sight at balls and other gatherings by the absurdly wealthy, his name is one whispered by merchant and aristocrat alike. Wherever there is champagne being poured and dancing to be had, Langley will be there to entice and beguile.But despite all the glitz and glamour that comes with a life spent in sin and depravity, it's far from fulfilling. When the party's over and Langley finally gets to hear himself think, apathy settles in. In truth, he can't stand the snobbish elites he has to surround himself with in order to survive. In becoming accustomed to the comforts allowed to him from his lifestyle, he's become trapped.Langley Pelissier is a beautiful songbird trapped in a gilded cage. Fed pomegranate seeds and crystal spring water, he has all he could ever want and more. But he'll never be able to spread his wings and fly.
